Larson Grant

New CD

New Musical JUNIOR CLAUS makes Minneapolis Premiere
JUNIOR CLAUS, a Christmas-themed family musical, opened a three week run in Minneapolis, MN on December 10th. Helmed by Steve Barberio, JUNIOR CLAUS follows the story of Santa’s son, Junior, as he rebels against the family business and Christmas altogether until he is called upon to step into his father’s shoes. Millikin workshop of GOLDEN GATE
Michael and Chris were invited back to Millikin University in 2010 after the well-received workshop of DANI GIRL in January 2009. They workshopped workshopping GOLDEN GATE, which premiered at the Williamstown Theater Festival. Readings by the Millikin students will took place both on campus and at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts. More information about Millikin University’s Theater Department can be found here.
DANI GIRL at Penn State
DANI GIRL was selected to be part of Penn State’s New Musical Theater Festival.
Performances took place on December 12, 2010 at 2pm and 7pm at the Pavilion Theater. More information on the festival can be found here.
Golden Gate
Michael and Chris are at work on their new musical, Golden Gate, a commission from the prestigious Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Kennedy Center Concert
February 2nd, 2008, Millenium Stage – Kennedy Center, 6pm
Kooman and Dimond return to the Kennedy Center to take part in a series of concerts titled “Next Generation of Musical Theater”. Come hear the best of the Kooman and Dimond songbook as performed by Natalie Weiss and Anderson Davis.
Tickets are free, and on a first-come first-serve basis.

Millikin Residency
Jan 5th-13th 2008, Millikin University
Kooman and Dimond take part in a week-long workshop of DANI GIRL at Millikin University, culminating in a reading at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts. Produced and directed by Lori Bales.
NAMT showcase

Johnny Mercer Songwriting Workshop
August 9-13th, 2008 Northwestern University
Under the tutelage of Andrew Lippa, Craig Carnelia, and Lari White, Kooman and Dimond will take part in a week-long workshop celebrating the new American Songbook. Two new songs (“Lost in the Waves”, and “Mama, Give us Your Blessing”) will be featured in a concert with Heather Headley.

O’Neill Fellowship
New London, Connecticut June/July 2008
Kooman and Dimond received a fellowship to attend the O’Neill Music Theater Conference, and worked with the creators and production teams of “Myth”, “In Transit”, and “Iron Curtain”.

Kennedy Center – ACTF Musical Theater Award, New Visions / New Voices Workshop

DANI GIRL has been selected as the 2008 winner of the Michael Kanin Musical Theater Award, given by the Kennedy Center ACTF. Immediately following the ACTF festival, Kooman and Dimond will receive a workshop of DANI GIRL by the Kennedy Center’s New Visions / New Voices festival, one of six new works selected from around the world.
